National Dengue Day - 16 May 2019
at Kundan International School


National Dengue Day was observed on 16 May 2019 at Kundan International School. The pledge was taken by the staff and students of the school. The students were made aware of prevention and cure of dengue through speeches delivered by the teacher in charge and the students. A short animated movie on prevention of the outbreak of dengue was shown to the students.

The following points were highlighted during the assembly:
• Introduction: Importance of observance of National Dengue Day
• Dengue fever and its symptoms
• Transmission of Dengue and characteristics of Aedes mosquitoes
• Breeding sites of Aedes mosquitoes
• Cleaning the water storing sites periodically inside and outside houses
• Mosquito bite protection at individual level
• Role of community in prevention and control of Dengue



Mother's Day - 10 May 2019
at Kundan International School


‘God could not be everywhere so he created mothers to commemorate the essence of Mother’s Day.’ Kundan International School Celebrated this day with great fervor by inviting young and enthusiastic mothers from Class Nursery to Class II. The proud young mothers were welcomed by the school faculty. They enthusiastically participated in T-shirt recycling and vegetable carving workshop by Mrs. Suman Mannotra. Mothers were made to feel special while they danced on peppy numbers with their kids. Finally all the mothers were thanked who had come to grace the occasion.

Noteworthy Win with Competence


The students of Kundan International School performed exceedingly well in the CBSE Class X and XII Examinations 2018-19. It is noteworthy that, out of 21 students who appeared in class X Examination, seven students Riya Chauhan, Shria Jindal, Sukhmanpreet Kaur, Valika Arora, Manisha Singh, Babanpreet Singh Babhrah, Tanmay Pandey scored above 90% and four students scored more than 80%.

Sukhmani Kaur of class XII scored 82.8%. The excellent result reflects the perseverance, tenacity and hard work of the students and the faculty.

The Principal of Kundan International School Mrs. Manjeet Jauhar stated that credit for such a marvellous result goes to the faculty, students and their parents. She congratulated the students for their perseverance and hard work.

The school embarked its new academic session by organising a ‘havan’ to seek blessings of the Almighty for the a bright, prosperous and successful future of the students in all spheres of life. The Manager of the school, Mrs. Manju Lakhanpal, Principal, Mrs. Manjeet Jauhar, staff and students of the school participated in the ceremony with devotion. The students thanked God for His kindness and prayed for an enriching year ahead.



Inter School Art and Craft Competition
22 Feb 2019


Pidilite Industries Limited launched ‘A Plus Crafter Inter School Competition’ at Kundan International School in which winners from forty schools of the school round participated for the city finale. The participants created articles on the theme ‘My Dream India’. Mr Panjak Saroj, Professor of Govt. Art College graced the occasion and judged the final submissions from a pool of creative entries. Khwahish Mannotra, a student of class VIII was adjudged as one of the winners and received a voucher of ₹4000/- Medhavi and Bhavya of class VIII also received medals for creating the beautiful artefacts! Principal, Manjeet Jauhar applauded the efforts of the students and congratulated the winners.

The students of classes IV to IX participated in an Integrated Health Education Program organised by GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh. The students were apprised about a variety of health topics such as mental health, girls’ rights, importance of physical activity and nutritious diet, substance abuse, stress management, CPR and many more. They also got an opportunity to participate in the anatomy display wherein they were able to view specimens of the human body. Professors from various departments provided insight about many topics through interactive learning sessions. It was a great learning experience for the students.

Self Defence for Girls- 30 January 2019


“Indoors or outdoors, your skills will keep you safe”.
Keeping in mind the growing incidents of crime against girls, a three-day workshop on Self Defense Training for girl students of Classes I to XII was conducted in the school by officials from Women and Child Support Unit of Chandigarh Police under their ‘SWAYAM’ programme. The session included a series of basic effective techniques of self defense and some tips and tricks for ready combat in case of contingency.
They were also trained to strengthen their body, emotions and intuitive skills so as to take charge of their own safety and become active partners for girls and women safety.

Mock Evacuation Drill- 21 January 2019


Schools are critical infrastructure entrusted with the responsibility of creating citizens of tomorrow! To educate and train the students for an unforeseen emergency situation like fire, the school conducted a mock exercise and evacuation drill on 21 January 2019. A demonstration of using fire safety equipment was conducted by the experts from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Chandigarh to sensitize the staff and students about life saving and rescue techniques in case of fire. The objective of the exercise was to create awareness among the students, of fire -fighting techniques and the ways to respond swiftly in times of such emergency situations. Mock safety drills and safety procedures to be adopted were explained to the students and staff members. Prior to the commencement of the drill exercise, various exits were chalked out in which teachers and students were briefed about the objectives and steps to be taken for evacuation. Planning escape, rescue operations, entry/exit points, methods of extinguishing fire, etc. were explained briefly by the fire officials. During the drill, fire officials, armed with necessary paraphernalia required for fire fighting and rescue operations, told the students about the measures to be taken if a fire breaks out. They demonstrated various types of fires and fire extinguishing equipments and enlightened the students on the precautions to be taken in each case. Students and faculty learnt important life saving tips from the demo conducted by the fire officials.

Teachers’ Empowerment Programme - 07 September 2018

A one-day workshop on ‘Classroom Management, Positive Thinking and Multiple Intelligences’ for all educators was organised at Kundan International School. A resource person, Ms. Himani Singh, certified teacher trainer of international acclaim and psychometric professional, conducted the workshop to enlighten the teachers with tips on effective classroom management and ways to build a positive outlook in the classroom. The workshop focused on the elements of classroom management such as content management, conduct management and covenant management. Various activities were undertaken to illustrate these elements with an involvement of the participants. The educators were given a brief insight on the eight multiple intelligences advocated by Howard Gardener. Principal, Mrs. Manjeet Jauhar appreciated the highly interactive and application-based workshop. She encouraged the educators to be pro-active in dealing with children and their difficulties.
